Employability Engagement Event

BCL, along with many other businesses came together at Aberdeen Townhouse to support ABZ Works in their Employability Engagement Event held on 14th June 2022.  ABZ Works, Aberdeen City Council’s employability team help individuals move into education, training, and work, gain qualifications, upskill, and much more.

Promotion was aimed at school leavers, college, and university leavers, and shared through employment support providers as well as social media for other all age ranges.

Peter Barron, Business Development Director and Laura Kenyon, Trainee Estimator represented BCL on the day providing  advice and support for all those attending.

The event provided  a range of content including 1-2-1 career advice, overviews of companies exhibiting and what they are doing in Aberdeen, mock interviews, wellbeing support whilst job searching, ‘a day in the life’ in various roles within construction, visitors from different departments from within the business, as well as support with education and  apprenticeships.

The event also provided:

· Presentations from organisations across the construction, energy and engineering sector

· Workshops running throughout the day to offer employability support in the form of: career advice, experience sharing, wellbeing support, cv building and interview tips

A really great range of options for attendees.

This event was a great example of partnership working amongst businesses and people of Aberdeen.
