Aboyne Primary School Refurbishment Works

Background

Aboyne Primary School, located in Aberdeenshire, neighbours Aboyne Academy, a fire station and residential streets, and caters for approximately 400 children aged from 3 years to 12 years old, including those with additional support needs.

This project forms part of Aberdeenshire Council’s continued effort to ensure they provide a high standard of buildings to support service delivery.

The Works

Works comprise internal alterations and refurbishment to the existing toilet blocks located throughout the school and the community resource hub (CRH).

The existing toilet blocks will be fully refurbished providing new cubicles and sanitary ware, new wall finishes, floor finishes and decoration.

Further alterations to the community resource hub include the creation of a “changing places WC” and a new “sensory room”, new base units, worktop sinks and cooker forming a kitchen skills area, upgrades to floor, wall and ceiling finishes together with associated alterations and upgrades to the existing electrical and mechanical installations.

External works include the installation of a transition shelter and new hard landscaping boardwalks and planting that will provide enhanced external play areas.

The majority of the works will be carried out during term time and will be delivered in phases.
