Fraserburgh Academy

The key aim of the project is to construct a new drama extension with other areas/departments being refurbished to provide a more modern standard of accommodation.

Improvement works span over three phases due to the school remaining fully operational throughout the construction programme i.e.:

Phase 1

Conversion of the existing basement toilets to reprographic and the conversion of classrooms to support for learning and music room into a drama room.  Refurbishment of physical education staff base and music rooms including store and music practice rooms, advance services isolation works to art department.

Phase 2

Conversion of the existing support for learning classrooms into staff room and the conversion of reprographics room into a conference room.

Phase 3

Conversion of existing staff and conference room areas into an art department and the installation of a chairlift and “ResQmats”

The flooring and ceiling finishes were replaced throughout the affected areas, together with associated drainage, water supply, heating and ventilation and electrical works requiring connections outside the main work areas.

External Works

External concrete sill replacements, fabric repairs and window replacements together with access improvements and powered door upgrades.
