Gordon Primary School Refurbishment Works

Background

Gordon Primary School is a non-denominational school with a roll of 404 and a Nursery role of 79 and stands in beautiful, historic surroundings within the town of Huntly, within a campus shared with The Gordon Schools, Linden Centre, Swimming Pool and All-Weather Pitch. Gordon Primary School boasts a brand-new state of the art nursery in a new building within the school grounds.

The Works

This project includes the completion of the refurbishment of four toilet blocks, four GP areas and the demolition of a temporary unit. The scope of works is spilt into three main elements:

  • The four main toilet blocks within the main primary school will be refurbished and replaced including new cubicles and sanitary ware, new wall finishes, floor finishes, suspended ceilings, and decoration. Asbestos removal is being carried out in this area prior to the refurbishment works commencing.

  • The four GP areas are adjacent to each of the toilet blocks, works to the two larger areas is more significant with the creation of a sensory space and changing place within these spaces. New ceilings, lighting, flooring and decoration as well as an upgrade to existing workshop units and sinks. The two smaller spaces will be refurbished with new decoration and floor and new furniture will be installed to these new areas.

  • Demolition of an existing 2-classroom temporary accommodation and associated playground remedial works.
