Housing Development, Ballater

Works comprised the construction of an eight new build housing development of traditional construction with shared public/vehicle area and gardens in a gap site, together with compensatory public open space enhancement to the adjacent park area.

The new development was constructed in two blocks of two houses and one block of four houses in timber frame with a mixture of block, roughcast and timber linings.   The houses were constructed to ensure maximum energy efficiency with the installation of air source heating and solar panels.  Unique dormer windows and porches were included in the client specification setting these properties apart from other social housing developments.

A policy of restricted working hours was implemented due to the proximity of occupied housing and sheltered housing accommodation.
