A time capsule burial took place at No. 30 The Square Huntly!
The capsule contains a snapshot of Huntly Town in 2022 including a copy of the Huntly Express, the last cover story produced by Pat Scott, Chief Reporter for the last 44 years (pictured above) who marked her retirement by burying the time capsule alongside our Site Manager, Gordon Keith.
Inside, the future folk of Huntly will find leaflets and flyers from events going on around the town as well as takeaway menus, business cards, leaflets about local information and services, some advertising pamphlets, a programme from the Strathbogie Horticultural Society Annual Show, and the Huntly Hairst leaflet. As well as this there are some more personal items including a player list from Huntly FC, a short note on a beautiful photograph from local photographer and a letter from a local boy in the form of a “Day in the Life of”.
We thank Pat for giving up her valuable time to join us, the Huntly community who helped gather items for the capsule, the children who wrote letters and all those who attended the burial ceremony.
